 Leonard K. Samuels


Leonard K. Samuels is shareholder in the Dispute Resolution Team at Berger Singerman.  Mr. Samuels joined Berger Singerman in 1989 as the firm’s sixth lawyer, and has been instrumental in the growth and success of the firm.  Mr. Samuels received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1982, and his law degree, magna cum laude, from Florida State University in 1985.  As a law student, Mr. Samuels interned with Justice James C. Adkins of the Florida Supreme Court, and upon graduation from law school, he served for eighteen months as a law clerk for Justice Adkins.

 Nick Jovanovich


Nick Jovanovich is an AV rated, Board Certified Tax Attorney, Certified Public Accountant, and a shareholder of the Firm’s Transaction Team. He is also Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy Tax and the Partnership Tax Committees of the Federal Tax Division of the Florida Bar Tax Section.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, partnership, limited liability companies, sales and use tax, estate planning, bankruptcy tax planning and tax controversies, including matters involving the IRS and the Florida Department of Revenue.

Mr. Jovanovich received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Florida State University, and obtained his LL.M. degree in taxation from the University of Florida.  Mr. Jovanovich is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims and all State Courts in Florida.

Arthur J. Spector 


Arthur Spector is a shareholder and serves as the team manager for the firm’s Business Reorganization Team, resident in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.  Mr. Spector focuses his practice on business reorganization and litigation on behalf of debtors, creditors, trustees, committees, parties interested in acquiring companies or assets, and parties sued by any of the foregoing.


Mr. Spector is admitted to practice in Florida, Michigan and New York. He was a United States Bankruptcy Judge in the Eastern District of Michigan for eighteen years (1984-2002), where he was Chief Judge the last three years.  He authored 170 published judicial opinions, including 25 in the Dow Corning case alone.
