Susan Hackett, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, joined the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in 1989, and has held a number of roles and responsibilities over the years, including the provision of legal services and counseling to ACC and its Board of Directors.  
Prior to joining ACC, Susan was a transactional attorney with Patton Boggs; and clerked for several Washington, DC employers while in law school and sitting for the bar.
Susan lectures regularly before a wide variety of legal audiences, and has authored articles (and has regular columns and blog postings) on a number of professional and managerial topics for such publications as the ACC Docket, Legal Times, InsideCounsel, Corporate Counsel, The Washington Post’s Online “Corporate Law Center,” National Law Journal, Litigation, Business Law Today, Law Firm, Inc., as well as for various law and business reviews, international legal
magazines, and state bar publications.
She has been quoted or featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the National Post (Canada), Business Week, USA Today, NPR’s All Things Considered, Nightly Business Report, and on Fox News Network, among others.
Susan is a member of the Board of Directors of Street Law, Inc., and a former member of the board of Equal Justice Works (formerly NAPIL), and a former founding member of the board of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). She has been an appointed liaison to several American Bar Association Presidential Commissions and Task Forces, including: the Commission on the Multijurisdictional Practice of Law, The Commission on Alternatives to the Billable Hour, the Joint Committee on Lawyer Regulation, the ABA Task Force on Sarbanes-Oxley Section 307, The Attorney-Client Privilege Task Force, and the Commission on Loan Repayment Assistance Programs (LRAPs), and the ABA Minority Counsel Program.
Susan is a 1983 graduate (dual B.A. in political philosophy and international relations) of James Madison College at Michigan State University, and a 1986 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as President of Phi Delta Phi, the international honorary legal fraternity. She is licensed in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Susan is married to Richard Hagerty, a commercial litigator and bankruptcy specialist with Troutman Sanders (Tysons Corner, Virginia office), and is the proud mother of a 10-year old daughter, Claire, and a 7-year old daughter, Maeve.  
John Remsen, Jr.

John Remsen, Jr. is a nationally recognized speaker and author on law firm marketing topics.
He has been a featured speaker at over 100 national and regional conferences of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), and numerous state and local Bar associations. In addition, he has been chosen to moderate dozens of panel presentations -– often featuring managing partners and/or general counsel -- for these and other organizations.
His articles have appeared in such well-respected publications as ABA Journal, Asian Lawyer, For the Defense, Legal Management, Marketing for Lawyers, Marketing the Law Firm, Managing Partner, Rainmaker’s Review, Florida Bar News, Florida Lawyer, Lawyers Weekly, New York Law Journal, Texas Lawyer and Wisconsin Lawyer.
John has served on the national Board of Directors of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and was President of its Southeastern chapter for three years. In addition, he was Executive Editor of Strategies, LMA’s monthly newsletter.
A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, John holds an MBA degree from The University of Virginia (1985) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida (1980).
