Description

This webinar will address the fundamental concepts lawyers must understand when responding to auditors' requests for information.  Focusing on the framework established by the 1975 American Bar Association Statement of Policy Regarding Auditors' Requests for Information, this presentation takes a "start to finish" approach to responding to audit letters.  Participants will learn to evaluate the client's request letter and to create appropriate procedures for compiling responsive information.  The lawyer's duties in regarding to identification of information that should, or should not, be included in the lawyer's response will be thoroughly explored.  Model clauses for response letters will be presented.  The program will include tips for dealing with requests for information that are outside the Statement of Policy and informal requests, and a discussion of current issues.
