Successful intellectual property litigation management requires more than just an assessment of the strength and weaknesses of the case.  It requires a working relationship with in-house counsel and the client.  This course will help you forge an effective partnership with in-house counsel to achieve the best possible result in your intellectual property case and a stronger relationship with the client.  In particular, this course will cover:

  • Using an early case assessment to set litigation goals and strategy
  • Managing client expectations from day one
  • Developing a litigation plan
  • Controlling costs and budgeting
  • Avoiding disaster, such as sanctions for misconduct or discovery abuse

The speaker is Nancy Tinsley, Associate General Patent Counsel at Roche Diagnostic. Nancy is responsible for Roche Diagnostic’s patent litigation.  Before joining Roche Diagnostic in 2008, Ms. Tinsley was a partner at Baker & Daniels LLP where she practiced for 17 years.  At Baker & Daniels, Ms. Tinsley concentrated her practice on all types of intellectual property disputes and worked with clients in many different areas of technology and, for several years, led its intellectual property litigation practice.
